August Meanderings
Have you read Douglas Adams “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” series? If you haven’t, you really should. Not only is it a hoot and a half, but there are some really good lessons to be learned in there.
For example, Arthur Dent learns that the trick to flying is to throw yourself at the ground and miss. Lesson to be learned? Sometimes failure brings you more success that you would expect.
Another good piece of advice: On the cover of the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy are the words, “Don’t Panic.” Good advice for anything in life, for as soon as you panic, you’re more likely to do something stupid and screw everything up. I know I have. In those moments when I’ve been most panicked about my financial situation, I’ve made terrible decisions that just made the situation worse. I have a feeling that this might be true for others, as well.
But that’s not really why Adams’ series is on my mind. Nope. It’s because the answer to life, the universe and everything is equal to the age I will be on my birthday later this month.
That’s pretty momentous — in a small way, I’ll spend a year being the answer to life, the universe and everything! (O.K. it’s a stretch, but throw me a bone and work with me here.)
Anyway, because it is August and because I’ll be turning this special age, I’m going to be doing some very special things for all my readers and subscribers. The first of which, I’ll be launching on Monday — to find out what it is, subscribe to my newsletter. You’ll get a cool free report on how to “StART Your Business”, too.
