Yep, I'm coming out of my shell to enter a video contest my Web host (SiteSell) is having, which pays $10,000 for the top prize! And there are substantial cash prizes for the runners-up too, so I've got a decent chance of winning something because the contest is only open to SiteBuildIt (SBI) website owners.
This is just one of the reasons I'm such a huge fan of SiteSell. They're like family in a way because, for one thing, they give you all the tools and instructions you need to compete online with your website these days (I think the video contest is to nudge us all into making good use of the hottest Internet technology available right now, which is video); plus, and perhaps most importantly, everybody in the SiteSell forums goes out of their way to help one another with the website building process and with suggestions for business development techniques too. To me, this community itself is worth the price of my Web hosting service.
Now I'm not usually one of the first people to hop onboard when new technology comes along, but since Google recently bought YouTube, I'm smart enough to know that video is where the future of the Internet is going, and I don't want to be left behind! So keep your eyes open for little ol' me coming to a video monitor near you!
