My Brain is Full

If you're new here, you'll want to be sure to get your free report and subscribe to the monthly e-zine and, perhaps, subscribe to the RSS feed, as well. Thanks for visiting!

Lee Pound and MeI skipped my normal first of the month posting because I was in Ontario, Calif., attending Market Your Way to Wealth, a live event created and hosted by Arvee Robinson and Lee Pound. That and the fact that I had to spend every free moment I had before I left moving into my new place.

We are now officially moved out of the old townhouse and are now sharing the new one with lots of un-packed boxes!

Anyway, the last two weekends I attended two live events and learned a great deal that I’d like to share with you. So, I’m going to do something different this month. Per normal, I’ll post articles on Mondays that follow the month’s theme. This month is all about blogging. And, on other days, I’ll share some aha’s I had at the events. That way you can benefit from the information while I process what I learned and start putting it into action.

How’s that sound? Sound like a plan? Good! See ya on Monday!

Apparently, I’m Boring

I just read this article on HubSpot about grading your online personality, “Groundbreaking New ‘Personality Grader’ Makes Marketing Less Manic,” and for a hoot got my personality graded.

I didn’t do too well. :-(

But one part of the score really struck me.

Sentiment Score:
An analysis of your sentiment indicates you are a generally positive person; how boring.

This analysis is true. I am a generally positive person. Always have been and I like that. I’m optimistic and that’s just the way it is. But what makes me wonder is why is being positive boring?

What? Am I supposed to share all my depressing moments with the world? (Yes, I have my moments.) Am I supposed to be abrasive? Cuss? Belligerent? Those just aren’t me. I’m a positive person and if you don’t like that, well, don’t read my posts … don’t follow me … don’t pay attention to me and just go away. I don’t care. It’s a free world (mostly) and you have a right to your opinion, just as much as I have a right to mine.

So there! Take that Personality Grader!

Of course, I think this may be part of an April Fool’s joke. But, I guess it struck a nerve.

2009 Is Mine … It Can Be Yours Too!

2009 Is Mine!Hooray! The New Year is here! Are you ready to make this your best year ever?

Yeah, yeah, I know. We’re in an economic down turn, yada, yada, yada.

Well. When the news says there is 9% unemployment, do you know what I hear? I hear that there is 91% employment!

I like to follow the Monty Python view and “Always Look at the Bright Side of Life”! (I received the Criterion Collection version of The Life of Brian for Christmas, so that song is fresh in my mind.)

Historically speaking, many fortunes are made during economic downturns. So, I say, why can’t one of those fortunes be mine?

Therefore, on this first day of the New Year, I challenge everyone to resolve to make the best of the situation they are in and make lemonade if they’ve been handed some lemons!

If you’ve been reading my posts last month, and doing the exercises I suggested, you should be in pretty good shape to make this a stellar year for your business. So focus on the positive, take decisive action and don’t belabor the bumps on the road to success.

Happy Holidays Everyone!

We All Have Something To Be Thankful For

Here in the U.S. we celebrate Thanksgiving on the third Thursday of November, this year it falls on Nov 27. It is a time when we gather with those we love, share a meal and, hopefully, some good and memorable times.

When I was growing up, my Mom, Dad and sister, would schlep down to San Francisco to grandma’s house. Grandma was a great cook. We’d have turkey, some amazing stuffing and, of course pumpkin pie. It was always a day of abundance: abundant food and abundant love (and, on occasion, abundant stress causing all sorts of little tiffs). Chitty Chitty Bang Bang always seemed to be playing on TV, and would plunk myself down on the living room floor and watch it on grandma’s big TV. Those were good days.
