An Introduction to Time Management Concepts

timemanagement.jpgLet me let you in on a little secret. I have ADD and therefore issues with time management. O.K. That wasn’t much of a secret at all, but I felt you should have this in mind as you read this month’s post on time management for women entrepreneurs and small business owners.

When it comes right down to it, time management is basically about being focused. Without focus, you can loose track of time and get almost nothing done.

There are a heck of a lot of time management techniques out there, and at least one of them is going to work for you. Most likely, more than one will work for you. For me, I’ve found that one technique works well for one area of my life, and another works well in another area. So, my advice to you is to try them all on for size. See which ones fits and in which situations.

Welcome March!

sprocket.jpgI am so glad February is over. I don’t know why, but February is always a challenging month. Usually, it is only challenging financially, but this February was challenging emotionally, too.

Let me back up a moment. I happen to be blessed with the best dog ever. That’s her picture here (for scale, those tiles are a square foot). We’ve been together for 13 years come March 25. She has a few health issues — epilepsy, hip dysplasia, a thyroid condition and Cushing’s disease. Early in February, she started having bloody noses. After a few days, she started sneezing blood all over the place. It was a mess.

At first, we thought it could be a growth in her nose, and nasal growths are cancerous about 99% of the time. Then we discovered she had high blood pressure, probably caused by the Cushing’s, and that was causing the bloody noses.

Then, one night, she had a seizure and had a really hard time recovering from it. I thought she had had a stroke and I was going to have to put her down. Continue Reading →
